Our commitment
Many of the people who use Drainage Study work for cities, counties and the engineers who serve them, and we want the tool to work for everyone on those teams. We aim to meet the Web Content Accessibility Guidelines (WCAG) 2.1 at Level AA, the standard public agencies are held to.
What we have tested
The page every visitor lands on is checked with automated tools (axe and Lighthouse) at desktop and phone widths, and by hand with a keyboard alone. It can be used without a mouse, shows a visible focus indicator, and keeps keyboard focus inside the sign-in card while that card is open.
We have not yet completed a full audit of the screens you see after signing in, and we are working through it now.
Known limitations
The map. Study points and areas are chosen on an interactive map, which is difficult to use with a screen reader. The results are also given as text in the side panel, and the study report is available as a Word document.
Brand color. A few small elements, such as the selected map-style button, use brand colors that fall slightly short of the WCAG contrast ratio.
Tell us about a problem
If something on Drainage Study doesn't work for you, or you need results in a different format, email info@drainagestudy.com. Tell us the page and what you were trying to do, and we will work with you to get you the information. Agencies that need an Accessibility Conformance Report (VPAT) for procurement can request one the same way.
